4th of July Dipped Strawberries & Rocket Dog

I am having some fun with food this week with my little girls since the 4th of July is on Friday. Monday night we decide to have a 4th of July theme dinner with Dipped strawberries and Rocket Dogs. Of course I found both these great ideas on Pinterest!! I love pinterest!!

For the Rocket dogs first you need to stick the skewers through the hot dog.

Then take any dough (I used biscuits dough) and roll it into a long line.

Then wrapped the dough around the hot dog and bake.

Then once the hot dogs are done baking let them cool and stick a piece of white cheese (that is cut like a triangle) at the tip of the skewer. Then tie some ribbon on the bottom of the skewer and you have your Rocket Dog! For the strawberries just dip them in white melted chocolate and then blue sprinkles. Put them in the fridge to harden the chocolate.

The girls loved this special 4th of July dinner and thought is was so cool!

Heart within a Heart Homemade Pizza

So I took our Homemade pizza recipe and put a Heart shape twist to it for Valentines Day. The girls love this pizza recipe better than regular pizza and making it heart shape was even better for them.
All you need is:
  • Slice Bread
  • Left over Spaghetti sauce
  • White cheese
  • Turkey slices
  • Heart shape cookie cutters

First we cut a heart shape out of the slice bread.

Then we added the left over spaghetti sauce.

Then the white cheese. You can use slice white cheese if you have it just cut it out into the shape of the bread to fit over the sauce.

Then take a smaller heart shape cookie cutter and cut out heart shapes out of the turkey slice.

Put the heart shape turkey slice in the middle of the pizza.

Put it in the oven @350 until the cheese melts and the bread is toasted.

This recipe was so easy to make the girls made it on their own.

When it was time to serve I added some strawberries that I cut into hearts.

The girls ate all of their heart pizza and wanted to make more!

Jack-O-Lantern Lunch Ideas

I love to make my girls' lunches fun to go with the holidays and themes of the season. My oldest Ari loves to show off her lunch at school to all her friends. So here are some "Jack-O-Lantern" ideas I have made for Ari and Bri for their lunches.

Jack-o-Lantern Grilled Cheese Sandwich

To make this all you need is a pumpkin shape cookie cuter and a sharp knife. Cut two slices of bread and a slice of cheese into a pumpkin shape. Cut a Jack-o-Lantern face out of one of them with the sharp knife.

Then cook your grilled cheese like you usual would.

That is it!

PB & J / Turkey & Cheese Sandwich

Make your kiddos their favorite sandwich and use pumpkin cookie cutter to cut out the pumpkin shape. Then decorate the sandwich with your child's favorite candy skittles, M&M's, chocolate chips etc.

Jack-o-Lantern Cuties

Decorate a cutie (which are smalls oranges) with a sharpie/black marker creating a Jack-o-Lantern face.

Jack-O-Lantern Fruit Cups

Draw a Jack-O-Lantern face on a peach or orange fruit cups with a sharpie/black marker.

You can also do these ideas for Halloween Parties as well.
