DIY Rotating Supply Organizer

Hello everyone! What can you make with two cake pans, some marbles, paper towel rolls, and some spray paint? You can make this "DIY Rotating Supply Organizer" to organize all your supplies. I made this organizer to organize all of my kiddos' supplies for when they are doing homework or want to create some master pieces. I also made one for myself to organize all my office and craft supplies. What makes this organizer even better is the fact that it rotates so you can easily find all the supplies you need.

To make this organizer be a rotating organizer you will need two cake pans and a bag of marbles. I got the cake pans at Wal-mart for .88 cents each and the marbles at Dollar Tree.

Pour the bag of marbles into one cake pan.

Then place the second cake pan on top of the marbles. The top cake pan can now rotate in circles because it rolls on the marbles. I found this idea of the rotating cake pan on Alejandra.tv's youtube channel.

Now to create the different sections to organize the supplies, I just used paper towel and tissue paper rolls.

I cut the paper towel and tissue paper rolls to the different sizes I wanted and then arrange them in the cake pan how I wanted them. Once I arrange them the way I liked them, I staple them together.

After I stapled them together I took the whole toilet paper and tissue paper rolls out of the cake pan and spray paint them a light blue color. Once the paint was dry, I put the rolls back into the cake pan but this time I glued the rolls to the bottom of the cake pan.

The last step was to fill the organizer with all the supplies. I LOVE this organizer and you can use it for so many things and in so many rooms. With it being a rotating organizer, it can be put in the middle of a table or on a shelf and you can still get to whatever supply you need. Also this organizer was so cheap to make as well.

I hope you liked this post. Please let me know in the comments below some of your favorite ways to organize your supplies.

Trash to Treasure Shelf Makeover

YouTube Video

Hello everyone!! I wanted to share with you today another TRASH TO TREASURE SHELF MAKEOVER that I did to a shelf that someone was throwing away. I know that some people might think I am crazy for taking things that people throw away, but sometimes people throw away things that are in good condition or just need a little touch up to make it BEAUTIFUL and FUNCTIONAL again. So when I saw this metal shelf being thrown away I knew I could fix it and use it in my house for storage.

Beside adding some more screws for support the main thing I wanted to do for this shelf was to cover up those ugly rust stains. At first I was just going to spray paint the whole shelf and that was it but then I decide not to because I would still feel the roughness of the rust under the paint. Also some of the shelves were bent so I wanted to create a smooth surface for the shelves.

So my end decision was to use some FOAM BOARD and BEAUTIFUL CONTACT PAPER which I got  at DOLLAR TREE for a dollar each! If you have seen my other post and projects you know I LOVE getting things from DOLLAR TREE!

First I measured out the lengths of the shelves and cut the FOAM BOARD to the lengths of the shelves and placed them on top of shelf.

Then I measured out and cut the contact paper the length of the shelf and a little more so that the contact paper would stick and cover the front of the shelf.

I continued with all the rest of the shelves.

Now I have a BEAUTIFUL rust free UPDATED MAKEOVER SHELF!  I LOVE how this project came out and cost me very little to make over! Stay tune to my next post which will be on ORGANIZING THE PANTRY and yes I will be using this new updated shelf to ORGANIZE THE PANTRY!

XOXO

Trash to Treasure "Monster High Doll House"

My daughter LOVES Monster High so much that I decided to make a "MONSTER HIGH DOLL HOUSE" out of a bookcase that my neighbor was throwing away. My girls already have a Doll House but they always fight over it so I figured I could make an extra one for them to be able to share.

This is how the bookcase looked at first.

I painted only the inside of the bookcase in three different colors purple, pink, and blue. I wanted to make the floors of the rooms different from the wall colors so I used scrap paper to make them different. At first I was going to Mod Podge the paper on but I didn't like the wrinkles it left so I just used double sided tape and regular tape to tape the scrap paper down.

On the top floor "Pink room" I put  a "MONSTER HIGH" vanity set. I cut out some of the pictures in the box that the set came in to decorate the walls in the room.

The second floor "Blue room" is where I put the "ART ROOM" set and I also cut out windows and pictures from the box to add to these walls as well.

The first floor "Purple room" is where I put the "Cafe"set.

The "Cafe" cart did not fit in the room so I put it outside the "Purple room" next to the bookcase for the girls to play with. At the bottom of the bookcase I put two storage trays for the girls to keep all their "MONSTER HIGH"  accessories in. I printed out some "MONSTER HIGH" skulls to put in the front of the trays to decorate them.

At that is it! Our new "MONSTER HIGH" dollhouse out of an old bookshelf. All the furniture that I used in the dollhouse were "MONSTER HIGH" furniture sets.

Little Tikes table and chairs REDO (Trash to Treasures)

My parents awhile back found these Little Tikes table and chairs that someone was throwing away and brought them to me for my little girls to use. I have had them for awhile now and kept them in the garage for the girls to use when they played with play-doh or when we did painting projects. I didn't paint the tables and chairs when I first got them because they were just used in the garage for "Messy play project" but now that I was reorganizing the garage I thought I should make them look nicer and repaint them.

Because the table had so many scratches and things on it I decided to prime it first.

Then I painted it a glossy black. I choose black because white and any other color would get dirty to quick and this table was still going to be in the garage for the girls to use with their garage toys.

With the chairs I just painted it without priming it.

I wanted to give the black table a Pop of color so I used this pretty cheetah tape that we had left over from a Girl Scout Project Ari had done and wrapped it around the top of the table.

This table and chairs came out so cute. I can't wait to see how they look in the garage/playroom when I reorganize it.
