Science with Kids (Balloon Fun)

My girls LOVE to do SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS and they LOVE playing with BALLOONS so when I found this BALLOON EXPERIMENT Blowing up a Balloon with a Bottle- science for kids over http://www.frogsandsnailsandpuppydogtail.com/ through Pinterest I knew I had to do this experiment with my girls. Just like I thought they LOVED it. Before we started I asked them what do they think will happen to the balloon if we did this experiment, Ari said the balloon will blow up and Bri said the balloon will pop.

What you will need for this EXPERIMENT is a empty water bottle, funnel, vinegar, baking soda, and a balloon.

With the funnel let your child pour vinegar into the empty water bottle just about a 1/4 of the bottle full.

Then attach the balloon to bottom of the funnel and hold the balloon in place while your child adds 2-3 table spoon of baking soda into the funnel. Ari was being a big helper to her sister.

Shake the funnel so that all the baking soda falls into the balloon.

While pinching the balloon so the no baking soda falls out attached the balloon to the water bottle.

Make sure your child hold the balloon end over the water bottle and let them dump the baking soda into the bottle.

Make sure the kids still hold onto the bottom of the balloon while it is blowing up. The chemical reaction of the vinegar and the baking soda blows up the balloon.

Bri was scared that her balloon was going to pop so she was backing away. LOL

They LOVED blowing up their balloons this way and had so much fun with it! They are always asking me to blow up balloons for them to play with so this was a great way to add some science learning to a fun activity. Ari was right in her prediction that the balloon will blow up. Bri thought the balloon would pop and that is why she backed away from it but she learn that actually the balloon did pop.

Hope this post will give you some fun ideas to do with your kiddos and don't forget to like and pin this post.

Foam Board + Wrapping Paper + Push Pins = Wall Art Jewelry Organizer

Hi everyone so today I wanted to share with you another DIY organizational idea that I made to organize my necklaces. Just like with my DIY paper towel roll jewelry holder (click on the title to take you to that post) that I made for my bracelets and watches I wanted to make something that was pretty, cheap, and make it to wear I can see my jewelry easily when I am deciding what to wear.  The good thing about this project was it only cost me less than $5 to make two and all the materials I found at Dollar Tree. Also this project wasn't only a way to organize my jewelry but also added a little wall art to my bedroom.

The materials I used were foam board, wrapping paper, push pins, paper clips and glue gun.

First I wrapped the foam board with the wrapping paper.

Then I took a push pin and stuck it into the upper left corner of the foam board.

Now because the foam board is thinner than the push pin in the back you with notice that the point is stick out.

To fix that and also to secure the push pin into place I put hot glue on top of the point let it dry and put some more hot glue on top of the that glue to make two layer of glue. By doing this you will secure the push pin in place and there with be no point stick out the back.

Then repeat the steps with more push pin until you have push pins going across the top of the board.
After that I glued two paper clips to the back of the foam board to be able to hang it on the wall. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the paper clips in the back.

I have one organizer on the right side of my bed for my jewelry.

I have the second organizer on the left side of the bed for my hubby's long chains.

You could also use fabric instead of wrapping paper like I did here for my shorter necklaces.

I like it when I can get things organize and make it look pretty as well. Also I love that this did not cost my a lot to make because Jewelry organizer at the store can cost way more.

Please don't forget to like, share, or pin this post if you enjoyed it. Also leave me a comment with you own DIY organizational project that have helped you!!

Homework Station Cart

It is Back to School Time for most of us and for some it is coming up in the next few weeks so it is time to get back into a school routine for the kiddos. One way to get organize for the kiddos and yourself is to create a "HOMEWORK STATION CART" so the kiddos can have all their materials and weekly assignments in one place that can move to what ever table they are working on. Here is how I organized my "HOMEWORK STATION CART" for my girls.

I got this drawer cart at Wal-mart. The top of the cart is for my girls to place all the papers that I need to see and sign from school.

The first drawer is for my oldest Ariana and it has a basket of supplies that she will need (pencils, scissor, glue stick, eraser, ruler and tape) to complete her homework assignments. Also I have five file folders labeled with the days of the week to put her daily homework assignments in.

The second drawer is for my youngest Briana and has the same things as the top drawer.

The third drawer is the "Craft" drawer where I am going to have a daily art or craft project for the girls to do once they finish their homework and wait for the other sister to finish their homework. I also put file folders in there to separate the daily craft and a basket to hold any materials we need for the project.

The next to drawers are for other supplies that the girls might need.

The last drawer is for the different kinds of paper that the girls might need for homework.

This will help us keep things nice, clean, and organized. Also I won't miss any papers that I need to see and sign for school.

Cereal Box Paper Organizers

Hello Everyone it is time to get organized. Anyone who knows me knows that I like things organized and I actually LOVE to organize! Yes I know I am weird but I do like to organize messes it relax me some how and I find fun in it LOL. I needed to get some papers organized in my craft room so I decide to make these organizers I saw on my beloved Pinterest out of cereal boxes. I love it when I can take something I already have and use it for something else. Less waste and saves me money.

So first of course you need an empty cereal box ( I recommend a big family size cereal box because they can hold any size paper and magazine) and some wrapping paper or contact paper.

Cut the flaps on top and down the sides leaving a piece for the base.

Then cut at an angle from the base piece you left to the top of the box on both sides.

Then wrap and tape.

I then made some cute labels on my computer because you know I love to label things.

If you want to make the ones that can stack up on top of each other you are going to need two large cereal boxes and tape down the flaps on top and bottom. The cut out one side of the box.

Then wrap them with the wrapping paper.

Then stack them on top of each other and staple them together.

I didn't like how they look on the inside so I glued some black construction inside of it.

I didn't want the weight of the top section to bend the bottom section so I added a piece of foam board to the inside of the top tray.

I use one by my printer to organize my printer paper and photo paper.

Also one by my Laminator to hold my lamination paper.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Please pin or like it.
Also leave me a comment on some things that you re use to organize your house. I love sharing ideas with each other.
