DIY Pretty Baskets (Ramen Noodle Boxes)

I am trying to get things organize in my house and when I organize things I try to use things I have at home first before I go out and buy something. Bri LOVES ramen (most kids do) and so I always have a lot of these boxes so when I started organizing I figured these would make cute baskets for my craft room.

I had some Pink wrapping paper at home left over from another project so I decided to use that paper plus my craft room colors are pink, green, and black so it was perfect.

I measured out the wrapping paper around the box just like I would do if I was wrapping a gift.

Now because I wanted to make this box a basket I wanted to wrap the paper differently than I would a present so that there are no folds showing. I found this post on Pinterest title Fabric wrapped Shoe Boxes where someone shows how you can cut and fold the wrapping paper so that there will be no folds. Evan though the blog was in another language I was able to figure out to do it by the pictures on the post. After you cut your paper to size, in each corner draw dotted and solid lines just like the picture above.

Where the X is at that is the part you will cut out.

Fold at the top dotted line and tape down.

Do the same thing to the other side.

Then tape down the inside.

Then you fold at the bottom dotted lines on both sides.

Then I doubled tape the inside of the box so that when I put things in the inside it won't rip the paper.

I wanted to make it a little prettier so I added some decorative tape to the top all around the baskets.

And of course I had to add a label. I label EVERYTHING!! LOL I just have to.

I made three of them.

And I think they look cute and are great FREE storage for my craft room!

St.Patty's Day Pot of Gold Hunt

Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day but I did a  "Pot of Gold" treasure hunt on Saturday for the girls so they could enjoy their St. Patty's Day goodies on the actual day!

I got the girls some little goodies at the Dollar Tree and also shirts to wear for St. Patty's Day. Also because my girl LOVE the Barbie movies I got them the new one that just came out for one of their little treats.

I put the treats in this pot that I have from my Halloween decorations.

I then wrote down some clues on paper and tape them to the back of some glitter Clovers that I found at Dollar Tree.

Here is Ari reading the clue to her sister.

The different clues took them all around the house.

The final clue lead them to the top of the stairs where they found their "Pot Of Gold".

They LOVED all their little goodies and couldn't wait to put them on.

But they where more excited about the new Barbie movie!! LOL

This activity was fun and easy to do with the kiddos and can be done with any theme or holiday.

Little Tikes table and chairs REDO (Trash to Treasures)

My parents awhile back found these Little Tikes table and chairs that someone was throwing away and brought them to me for my little girls to use. I have had them for awhile now and kept them in the garage for the girls to use when they played with play-doh or when we did painting projects. I didn't paint the tables and chairs when I first got them because they were just used in the garage for "Messy play project" but now that I was reorganizing the garage I thought I should make them look nicer and repaint them.

Because the table had so many scratches and things on it I decided to prime it first.

Then I painted it a glossy black. I choose black because white and any other color would get dirty to quick and this table was still going to be in the garage for the girls to use with their garage toys.

With the chairs I just painted it without priming it.

I wanted to give the black table a Pop of color so I used this pretty cheetah tape that we had left over from a Girl Scout Project Ari had done and wrapped it around the top of the table.

This table and chairs came out so cute. I can't wait to see how they look in the garage/playroom when I reorganize it.
